We use cookies when you visit our website.

On this page you find information on how we use cookies on www.castellum.se. Below you can read more about what a cookie is, which cookies we use, why we use cookies, and how you can block or remove cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files containing information which the website you visit stores on your computer, smart phone or tablet. Cookies are a technical support which is used to facilitate the use of various websites, to improve the user experience, and to provide certain information to the owner of the website. Cookies make it possible to distinguish different users from each other, which in itself can provide each user with a more tailored and positive experience of the website.

What do we use cookies for?

On www.castellum.se cookies are used as needed so that certain functions on the website will function correctly and be user-friendly when you click around.

On www.castellum.se “analytical” cookies are also used. The aim with such cookies is to optimise the website’s performance, to improve the users’ experience of the website and to improve the possibility to adapt the website’s function to the users’ needs. We also use cookies to compile anonymous aggregated statistics about the use of the website to enable improvements to the website’s structure and content.

Cookies that are used on the website

We use the following types of cookies:

(a) Long-term cookies, i.e. cookies that are stored on your unit for an extended period of time and are then removed at a predetermined date. These are used e.g. in the case of functions which describe what is new since you last visited the website. How long the cookie remains on your unit depends on the lifespan of the specific cookie and your browser’s settings.

(b) Session cookies, i.e. cookies that are temporarily stored in the browser’s memory (e.g. Internet Explorer) and removed when the browser is closed. These may, for example, be used to identify which language you have chosen.

(c) Third-party cookies, i.e. cookies that belong to domains other than those shown in the address field. Third-party cookies open up possibilities to trace the user’s Internet history.

The table below describes which individual cookies are used on the website, the purpose for which the cookie is used, which information the cookie stores, how long the cookie is used, and whether information in the cookie is shared with any other company or organisation.

How do you block and/or remove cookies

Most browsers have a standard setting which accepts the use of cookies. You can change these settings so that you, as user, are warned as soon as a cookie is sent to your unit, or to create a main rule whereby cookies are blocked. You can also choose to see all cookies that are stored and to remove all cookies that are stored on the unit.

The instructions to the browser, or the help function with which most browsers are equipped, provide information on how you see and remove stored cookies or change the settings for cookies. If you use different units to see and access the website (e.g. your computer, smartphone or tablet), you must ensure that the browser on each unit is adjusted to your wishes regarding cookies.

Note that if you choose not to allow storage of cookies, it is possible that you will be unable to use all parts of the website in an optimal manner and that the performance on the website may be adversely affected.

Personal data

The use of cookies on our website also results in certain processing of personal data since the information which is compiled via cookies can also comprise personal data. You can read in the table above which types of data are involved, the purpose for which they are used, how long they are stored and whether they are shared with any third party. Our processing of personal data takes place based on what the law refers to as a balancing of interests. It is our assessment that we possess what the law refers to as a legitimate interest when we handle the personal data we have compiled in conjunction with the use of cookies on the website, since it is important for us that the website functions well and is user-friendly, and it is important for us to be able to monitor patterns on our website in order to improve it. This is not possible without the use of cookies, including processing of personal data.

Your rights

You are entitled to request access to the personal data that Castellum processes about you. You are entitled to have erroneous personal data about you rectified and can request that personal data be erased. Furthermore, you are entitled to object to certain processing of your personal data and to request that the processing of personal data be restricted. You are also entitled to request to receive your personal data in machine-readable format for the purpose of transferring the data to another controller (referred to as data portability).

Read more above under the heading “How you block and/or remove cookies” if you wish to block or remove cookies and thereby prevent the processing of your personal data. If you take such a measure, this may mean that Castellum is unable to use cookies on the website for the purpose of providing a well functioning and user-friendly website, and for improving it.

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which Castellum processes your personal data, you can submit a complaint to the supervisory authority in respect of Castellum’s processing of personal data.

Castellum AB is a controller in respect of the processing of your personal data. If you have any questions concerning our use of cookies or the way in which your personal data is processed, you are welcome to contact Castellum’s data protection team on gdpr@castellum.se.
